somtimes mistakes are expensive.

you have had those days where some things are going right, but even more is going wrong. one of those days that ellen is in town, but you can't go see her, because you've already taken over an hour off for your lunch break because you absolutely needed to get out of your office. you were gone for so long, in fact, that your boss send you a text that says "i know you are having a hard day, but are you ever coming back?" and it makes you smile. because you've made a mistake, and while yes.. that typically annoys you for the rest of the day, it often doesn't cost you $175.37 to make better. and in this case, it does. especially when you are fixing an honest mistake by sending a man who make more money a month than you could ever imagine making in your lifetime a box of over-priced cigars as an apology. and yet you are still sending that box. even though you completely resent it, you're sending it anyway. because sometimes mistakes are expensive. even when they shouldn't be. but that is part of being an adult. right? right, you tell yourself. so on these days, where you can't seem to catch a break. you know what you do need to do? besides cry, or yell, or refuse to focus on anything but the issue at hand? you need to take a deep breath and go a little easier on yourself. you need to realize it was an honest mistake. you need to step outside, you need to enjoy the little bit of warmth and sunshine, you need to get yourself a soyvanillychaitea and you need to read something pleasant. like this.
